Origin & History
From a backyard grill to a popup tent to downtown Titusville - here's how BurgerRobs got here.
- The Pandemic Pivot (2020) - Rob and Shelby Buffaloe were marketing executives for a major hotel chain until COVID-19 cost them both their jobs. Rob's backyard burgers already had a reputation around town, and that reputation became Plan B. (the full story in Florida Today)
- Humble Tent Beginnings (2021) - In January 2021 the couple officially launched: one popup tent, one 26-inch griddle, and whatever corner of Titusville would have them. (how the tent days went)
- The Food Truck Era - Word of mouth turned into long lines. With an investor behind them, they moved up to the BurgerRobs food truck, drawing crowds and routinely selling out hundreds of burgers in a few hours.
- First Brick-and-Mortar (2022) - In early 2022 they opened their first fast-casual storefront at 3486 S. Hopkins Ave., rebuilt top to bottom with a vintage '70s rock 'n' roll vibe. (Florida Today on the Hopkins Ave. opening)
- Downtown Expansion (2023) - Demand outgrew the space again, so they moved to a turnkey location at 311 S. Washington Ave. in downtown Titusville, where BurgerRobs HQ serves today. (see what's cooking on Instagram)
Awards & Accolades
BurgerRobs has become a fixture at the top of the annual Florida Today Brevard Community's Choice Awards, sweeping multiple categories year after year. (the team celebrating the latest haul)
- Brevard's Best Burger - four years running, including 2023, 2025 and 2026. In the 2025 Florida Today Burger Battle, BurgerRobs took the crown with more than 59% of the final reader vote against long-standing local icons.
